Wealth & Abundance
What is your definition of wealth? Many people consider this only in terms of money but true wealth includes abundance, riches and fulfillment in all areas of life.
Do you have a prosperity or poverty consciousness?
Essentially wealth is a state of mind and much depends on how you perceive the things in your life. If your predominant thoughts are of scarcity, lack and poverty, then, through the law of attraction, you will perpetuate those things in your life. If your predominant thoughts are of prosperity and abundance then you will attract more that is in harmony with those thoughts to you. The circumstances can be the same but the thoughts you choose will direct the future results.
We often have a negative mindset about money and wealth, embedded into our psyche through upbringing, school, religious ideas and many more. The resulting limiting beliefs cause us to lower expectations, feel bad about having money and that we don't deserve wealth. Wealthy people are described in our culture as "filthy rich" or "stinking rich". Who wants to be seen as filthy or stinking? As children we have been told that "money doesn't grow on trees", "rich people aren't nice", "don't get your hopes up", "you have to work hard to get money". These beliefs do not serve us if we want to be deliberate creators of our own reality and we must override these self-imposed limits. There is also a popular idea that it is not spiritual to have money. That somehow we are spiritually rewarded for living in poverty and sacrifice. If we examine this idea to any degree we will know that it is not true.
Many times I hear people say they can't afford something when that is clearly not the case. They are simply choosing not to spend the money on that particular thing. A change of thoughts and words is all that is required to move from a focus on poverty to one of prosperity. Instead of saying "I cannot afford", you say "I choose not to buy". Instead of regarding something as "too expensive", you are "looking for greater value". Rather than stating that you "can't have something", you affirm that you "would like to have it" or you "look forward to having it". The difference in words may not be great but the difference in the energy vibration is huge, providing you can muster a hopeful sense of expectation. And whatever energy you are giving out attracts more of the same.
You are one of the richest people in the world!
Did you know that if you live in the western civilised world, in the UK or USA for example, you are among the top 5% of wealthiest people in the world? Do you get that? Even if you are living on welfare benefits, 95% of the world's population are worse off than you. Surely that must give you a prosperity consciousness! So focus upon what you CAN afford and what you DO have. See your glass as half full, not half empty.
You may argue that you are extremely hard up and you are only focusing on reality. Well I must tell you that reality is subjective and focusing on your version of it will only keep you stuck in that exact same place. So use your imagination and focus on where you want to be.
A great exercise to make you feel abundant is to put some money in your purse and go out and spend it over and over in your mind. Regardless of the amount, you will find many things that you COULD buy. You may choose not to buy but there are many things you could buy and that puts you in a powerful and attractive vibration.
I also recommend a game where you spend increasing amounts in your mind over time. This gets you more comfortable with larger sums and raises your vibration in relation to money. It is free to register and play the game at www.playtoprosper.com. Give it a go and have fun spending!
Gratitude and Appreciation
An attitude of gratitude and appreciation is fundamental to attracting more abundance into your life. Even in the most dire circumstances we can find something to appreciate, maybe the ability to see or move. We don't need to focus only on money or material things, we can feel gratitude for a flower, a sunset, the love of friends and family, the companionship of a pet, a cup of coffee, a warm bath, fresh linen, comfortable shoes, music, art, a ray of sunshine, a bird singing, a seat on the bus, a tasty meal. You get my drift? Whatever floats your boat. There are millions of things to appreciate each day and when you start to FEEL appreciation and gratitude for everything, you will be attracting wealth and abundance. It has to be so.

Practical help with money
On a more practical note, not many of us had a good financial education as it is not something taught on the school curriculum. A resource that I personally highly recommend is The Money Gym. The Money Gym book gives a great introduction to the four lanes of the "wealth highway" - business, property, stocks and shares and internet. It also helps to break through your limiting beliefs and establish how you relate to money. Good practical advice takes you from where you are to where you want to be. Because you must dream but then you must also take action to realise those dreams.
Nicola Cairncross and Judith Morgan, founders of The Money Gym, work relentlessly and innovately to bring you the cutting edge in wealth creation, from debt-busting, to saving and investing to running your own business and property investing. You may join one of the online support groups, conference calls, or get one-to-one help from one of their excellent team of coaches.

Can money buy happiness?
Many people believe that if only they had more money, their problems would disappear. This is not so and there are many unhappy millionaires in the world to prove the point. Life still has it's challenges no matter how well off you are and the key is to be happy now, be happy anyway. Happiness comes from within and is something you give out. The more you cultivate that sense of happiness and inner contentment, regardless of circumstances, the more you give out and the more that comes back to you.
Getting lots of material things for the sake of it will not bring fulfillment. So take time to get in touch within and find what makes your heart sing. Be discerning in what you wish for and find your true heart's desires. If you are to be a deliberate creator of your own experience, you want to manifest things in your life that bring you joy, freedom and a real sense of excitement. Equally fulfilling will be the things that bring peace, contentment and a sense of ease. Getting a fast car and a great big house just because society seems to value these things may not improve your life one bit. You may be knocking about in your big house feeling lonely and out of place and would be much happier in a cosy environment. It is what your heart calls you to that is important, not the status symbols that society dictates. On the other hand your heart may call you to a mansion filled with wonderful friends and family, poolside parties, charity open days or whatever and that is great too. Just know yourself and be in alignment with your true aspirations!
