Vision Boards
Do you have a Vision Board to help you realise your dreams? Sometimes referred to as a Dream Board, it consists of a board on which you stick or pin pictures of things you want to attract into your life. Since you attract what you think about and focus upon, it follows that if you see images of things you wish to attract on a regular basis they will be drawn to you.
As the mind relates much more to pictures than words, the vision board is a very powerful tool. I have kept a vision board for a number of years and, without exception, I have materialised the things that I have put there. There are always things still in motion but I feel them coming and know it is just a matter of time.
So how do these things materialise? Do you put a picture of a car on your board and the next morning you step out to the drive and there it is? Well, not exactly although anything is possible! In my experience, you do take action. So yes, you could just go out and buy the car if you had the funds so some would say that the vision board has no effect and you would get these things anyway. I find the difference is that you engage the subconscious mind when you focus on images. So on a level that you are not aware of, your mind goes to work on producing your desire. This brings about opportunities and synchronicities that you wouldn't believe. You will find yourself inspired to action and then the work is to follow this impulse and act on the opportunities. Maybe you will see a competition to win your object of desire, will be inspired to enter and win! Or maybe you will find a special offer or discount that brings something into reach. Or you will meet someone that has that very thing and is looking for a home for it.
Bear in mind that the most important thing is to focus on the feeling that the item will bring, as that is your true desire. When you look at your board, concentrate on the good feelings, be they joy, happiness, freedom, relaxation or whatever. If you look at a picture and it doesn't evoke a strong good feeling then that is not a true heart's desire. This happened to me when I put pictures of an eight bedroomed luxury house with pool, stables and paddocks. I realised that when I looked at the images I felt no excitement, it just seemed that this was a fabulous house that I should aspire to. When I got in touch with my real feelings I wanted a much smaller cottage in the country with a lovely garden and beautiful surroundings. I changed the pictures and felt excited. Now I live in my perfect cottage which I found with absolute ease.
On thing to remember is that you should not try to think about how these things will come about. Leave that to the Universe. The "how" is not your job. With your limited mind you cannot imagine all the possibilities so look at the images, feel the good feelings and allow the Universe to answer your requests. Your belief system can limit what can be delivered but dream as big as you can and stretch your iimagination. It is also a good idea to add pictures that just bring about good feelings, as opposed to material things. For example pictures of people, or yourself, doing things you enjoy, inspiring pictures that make you feel happy or excited. For example, I have a picture of a woman swimming in a natural pool below a waterfall. I love to swim outdoors and this gives me a feeling of exhillaration and freedom.
Often people will draw things on their vision board into their experience without even realising it. I had a sitting room interior on my board that represented my perfect living space. It had been there a couple of years and it was only recently that I looked at it and realised that my new sitting room, although not an exact match by any means, had a number of the key features of that room. Also, I had bought a picture of two birch trees to hang in my sitting room at my old house. I was intending to decorate and saw this lovely picture which I thought would be a finishing touch. Well I never got around to the decorating and the picture was just lying around for about a year. Then I moved and it went perfectly in my new sitting room. A couple of weeks after hanging it, I suddenly realised that the two birch trees were in my garden! I had bought a cottage with those two trees in the garden and the trunks were even at the exact same angle as the two trees in the picture! I was amazed that seeing this picture regularly and loving it, had manifested those trees into my experience.
I now have a physical vision board, a cork board on which I pin my images. And I also have a vision board on my computer screen which I can call up any time and also reverts as a screen saver. I can incorporate images, affirmations and voice if I wish. For information on this click on the image below.
I also recommend a free e-book "Vision Board Fundamentals" giving great hints and tips on creating your vision board. You can download it by clicking the image below. You will also find details of a brilliant online community called "Vision Lounge", which draws together like-minded people who are using vision boards to realise their dreams. Another great free resource for you!
